Instant page? I don’t think so…

Note:  the first few blog posts were written months ago, during the birth of Ninth Cloud Creative, but with my lack of web knowledge it has been a while since I was able to get them posted to the web, so a little delayed, but better late than never, right?

Okay so the web service I purchased my site from allows me to put up a TEMPORARY, I repeat TEMPORARY under construction page as a place holder until I get my site designed and coded. Plug and play is basically it, any idiot with a computer and figure it out.  So that’s what I did.

After I put in some initial text, chose a stock image and hit save, voila.

Excitedly I went to see my site live… Then I cried.

How can they honestly put something like this up on the net.  The template didn’t allow me to choose fonts or colors.  And this is what I get? I am horrified. Appalled. And had a strong desire to sue someone for defamation of character.  Who would design a template site with such hideous font options.  Do people actually think that this looks good?  Luckily for my non-existant lawyer, I was able to search and find a few other font options that were a little bit better than the default given. Whew…

So after about ten more minutes my site looked like this.

Now I think the little boy is just darling, probably cause he is mine, but the site lacks so much in the way of creativity and style.  But today is day one, I’m working on it.  This boring, {except for the adorably cute boy} simple info page will have to make due until I get some more parts and pieces worked out.

Next step is logo design! Now the fun really begins.
